The BCLB was approved for acceptance in both APA and ABA. The CLB was accepted into the ABA, it is already in the APA. Descriptions will be the same on both in the APA and ABA Standards There were 275 Dutch shown, biggest number we believe ever shown in US. It is a joyous day for all ADBS members. -Mary |

Re Qualifying Show at Indianapolis, IN - Nov 2006 We have been approved to hold an ABA qualifier for the Cream Light Brown at the Crossroads of America National Show at Indianapolis, Indiana in November. We have also been approved to hold an APA qualifier for the Blue Cream Light Brown at the same show. Both of these have been a long time coming, and we need to thank Mary Hoyt, Jean Robocker, and Ric Ashcraft for their hard work in making both of these qualifiers possible. For the Cream Light Brown qualifier, the ABA requires that we enter 25 Cream Light Browns from 5 different breeders spread across Cocks, Hens, Cockerels, and Pullets. The entries need to be representative of the standard that we submitted. For the Blue Cream Light Brown, the APA requires that we enter 50 Blue Cream Light Brown from 5 different breeders spread across Cocks, Hens, Cockerels, and Pullets. To make sure that we have enough entries, the club is asking that you forecast what numbers of Cream Light Browns and Blue Cream Light Browns that you think you will enter for this show. Although it is late to start breeding for this show, it may be possible to have some young pullets be ready for the show. I have attached a form for you to fill out and return to me. If you wish, you can email me at bssmagfr1@aol.com with the information requested on the form. We’ve worked too long and hard to not make the numbers required for these varieties. The club greatly appreciates your assistance in this matter. On a related note, the club has to submit the list of awards that will be offered at the Crossroads of America National Show. I am suggesting the following awards be sponsored for the Dutch breed at this show. OPEN: $25.00 sponsorship for the following: JUNIOR SHOW:
$25.00 sponsorship for the following: The above mentioned winners will be presented with a wine glass with a painting of a Dutch variety on the glass and a cash award. The glasses will be painted by Jennifer Spotten who is a member of the club. The amount of the cash award will be dependent upon the amount of money received for sponsorship. If you do not want to sponsor an award, you can make a donation of any amount to help cover the awards. Or, if you wish to sponsor an award not listed above, please let me know and I will add it to the list. To make the deadline for the show catalog, please respond to me no later than June 15th. Your generosity and assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated, and will help support the Dutch participation in this show. Listed below are two forms: one for the number of Dutch that you hope to exhibit at the National show and one for the sponsorship of awards at the show. Please fill them out and return to me by June 15th.

Indianapolis Show Dear Members, I wish I could tell you that all is completed for the qualifying of the CLB in ABA, and BCLB in APA and ABA. Things are looking very hopeful so that would be such great news! But as it stands now we are waiting for official word from the Standard Committees of both APA and ABA . I an told that this should happen after the committee meetings at the Colorado show, May 13 & 14th.I know some of you members are going to that show and will probably hear about the results before I will, as I am unable to attend. So let's keep our fingers crossed and hope we will hear good news soon. Oh, and good luck to those who are showing at that show ! -Mary |
